Unfortunately the next two came along and they weren't great. The third film in the series was the worst one and The Final Destination, the fourth entry, wasn't much better. 

Now in 2011, this series redeems itself with Final Destination 5. The team of director Steven Quale and writer Eric Heisserer have put together almost an apology to series fans for the mediocrity of the past films by giving them a Final Destination movie that brings the fun back into the series. It has all the strengths of the first two films in the series along with very few of the flaws that the last two films had. To add to that, the 3D showings present some of the best 3D in a horror film since My Bloody Valentine 3D.

The movie begins as these movies often do by introducing our characters before they get involved in some grisly disaster. This time we follow a group of young successful people all working at the same paper company, on their way to a retreat. Sam (Nicholas D'Agosto) sees a vision of the disaster that is yet to come: the bridge will collapse and there will be no survivors. After this he gets his girlfriend Molly (Emma Bell) and anyone else willing to follow off the bus. When the survivors begin dying, they soon find out Death is after them from the same spooky coroner (Tony Todd) we've seen before. He tells them that there is a way out: if you kill someone, you get their life. 

There is one reason a horror fan goes to see a Final Destination film and its to see young people die in nasty ways. After some of the lackluster death sequences in the previous two films, this one is more mean-spirited and it almost gives Death a sense of humor in how he kills these people. The writers know that their audience comes to expect certain deaths so they switch them up a little bit. Without spoiling anything, the deaths you see in the trailer don't end the way you think they do. It drops hints that one thing or another will happen, but then something comes out of left field and all you can do is laugh. 

In addition to playing with the audiences' expectations, this film also makes great use of the 3D. The opening credits alone feature such a variety of items (all callbacks to the previous films) flying at the screen with broken glass that one could wonder if that's all there is to it. But no, they throw even more at the screen later. If someone gets impaled, you will see the stick come at the screen with the entrails still hanging on it. If someone gets crushed, a body part will fly at the screen. These aren't spoilers...in a movie like Final Destination 5, it's just a matter of time that these things will happen.

The film also had some likable characters, the first time in a long time this has happened. They're still mostly paper-thin (except our lead) and just there as a body count, but at least they're worht watching. No character development is par for the course with a lot of the victims in this series, even if we did get a lot of time for Devon Sawa in the original. It's the character development that makes the audience care whether or not he will be able to cheat Death again. We don't learn very much about our main cast here, it's through their personalities and quirks that we find them tolerable, if not outright likable. Obviously some of them won't be on screen long enough for us to develop an opinion on, and that's okay too. You know what you're getting in these movies. 

The most character development comes from Miles Fisher, who plays Peter. He's a witness to the first post-disaster death, takes it pretty hard and undergoes a change that feels pretty natural, given the state of things. It's a wonder more characters in this series don't go down that road. A twist that helps them is the new idea that if you kill someone, you get their life. It's an interesting moral dilemma...if your death is approaching soon and you could take someone else's life to keep yourself alive, would you? Some say no, some say yes. Who does what won't surprise you, but it's the ride of getting there that makes it fun.

Not solely will he have the design of Steve McQueen or Paul Newman, however he brings the grittiness to 'Cowboys & Aliens' that he dropped at James Bond. His fights are brutal, bloody, and that they can cause you to cringe. you begin to suppose Craig may really be obtaining crushed up.

Craig is well-teamed with Harrison Ford. whereas seeing Indiana Jones teamed with James Bond on the massive screen is enough to form a geek swoon, the 2 cause you to forget their iconic characters and you begin seeing simply Dolarhyde and Lonergan. Ford fans can be disappointed that he does not get the maximum amount screen time as Craig, however Ford makes up for amount with quality. He has some nice scenes with Noah Ringer as Emmett Taggart and Adam Beach as Nat Colorado. One scene where he tells a story from his youth to Emmett is arguably one among the a lot of memorable scenes in Ford's recent career. It's stunning to visualize Harrison Ford willing to share the spotlight with Daniel Craig, however within the finish they each start off trying higher for it.

Italian film historians claim that the wedding marked the beginning of the golden age of Italian film as it had inspired MGM's decision to shoot the blockbuster Quo Vadis at Rome's Cinecitta.

In 1954 Linda Christian, whose curvaceous figure earned her the nickname "the anatomic bomb", starred opposite Barry Nelson as Valerie Mathis, James Bond's love interest in a television adaptation of Ian Fleming's novel Casino Royale, screened as an episode of the American CBS series Climax. It was, however, Ursula Andress, Sean Connery's co-star in the first big-screen Bond film, Dr No (1962), who became known as the "first" Bond girl. Linda Christian, though, could claim that she was the only Bond girl whose affair with 007 remained unconsummated.

In a ceremony that was somehow symbolic of the marriage, more than 1,000 Italian riot police had to be drafted in to hold back the crowd of screaming "tifosi" (the Italian equivalent of bobby-soxers), who nevertheless broke through the barriers as Linda Christian, resplendent in white satin with an eight-yard-long train, arrived 22 minutes late.

During their 15-minute audience at the Vatican, the Pope presented the second Mrs Power with a rosary and a booklet on "instructions about the good Christian family". But by the time the first of their two daughters was born in 1951 the marriage was on the rocks. In her memoirs, published in 1962, Linda Christian blamed her husband's extramarital affairs, though she acknowledged that she herself had had an affair with the British actor Edmund Purdom. In 1955 she filed for divorce, citing her husband's "mental cruelty".

The daughter of a Dutch oil executive and his Mexican-born wife, she was born Blanca Rosa Henrietta Stella Welter Vorhauer at Tampico, Mexico, on November 13 1923. As a child she travelled the world with her parents, becoming fluent in several languages.

 A fortuitous meeting with Errol Flynn during her teenage years led her to seek a career in Hollywood, where she was spotted by a talent scout at a fashion show and signed to a seven-year contract with MGM. She made her film debut alongside Danny Kaye in the musical comedy Up In Arms (1944), and played Mara in Tarzan and the Mermaids (1948), the last Tarzan film starring Johnny Weissmuller.

In 1954, as well as her role in Casino Royale, Linda Christian co-starred with Edmund Purdom in Athena. Despite the fact that Purdom's wife Anita was a childhood friend of hers, they began an affair and, following her divorce from Tyrone Power, she announced their intention to get married. The fact that they did not tie the knot until 1963 and that the marriage lasted little more than a year was hardly surprising, given Linda Christian adventures in the intervening eight years.

In 1956 Purdom was reported to be looking for her after she had decamped to St Moritz, allegedly to find a millionaire to keep her in the lifestyle to which she had become accustomed. The following year Linda Christian was photographed kissing the Spanish racing driver Alfonso de Portago (who was married at the time) before the start of the 1957 Mille Miglia in which he crashed his Ferrari, killing himself and at least 10 spectators. The photograph was published under the headline "The Kiss of Death". Later the same year she embarked on a round-the-world trip with the Brazilian mining millionaire Francisco "Baby" Pignatari.

After her divorce from Power, Linda Christian acting career was somewhat desultory. In 1963 she appeared in the Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton film The VIPs, and in America she had small roles on television in The Alfred Hitchcock Hour and The Dick Powell Theatre.Linda Christian also made several films in Italy.

After her divorce from Purdom, she took up with the bullfighter Luis Dominguin, her co-star in Francesco Rosi's Il momento della verit' (The Moment of Truth, 1965). Subsequently it was reported that her pet chihuahua, in a fit of jealousy, jumped to his death from her penthouse flat in Rome.

Linda Christian is survived by her two daughters with Tyrone Power, of whom the eldest went on to become one half of the singing duo Al Bano & Romina Power, described as "the Sonny and Cher of Italy".
